strange

"Strange is about waiting in line to buy Twinkies at a convenience store on Massachusetts Avenue. I ate Twinkies for dessert (at lunchtime) almost every day when I lived in Boston (at least when I was on a temp job).
My on-again-off again girlfriend (later my wife) liked me in small doses, but didn't want me getting too serious about her. She lived in New York City, and I would drive down to see her once a month. One particular weekend where she barely gave me the time of day all weekend long (or at any rate that's how I felt), she gave me this shitty yellow plastic toy bird that she had won at the San Gennaro festival in Little Italy, as a parting present, just as I was leaving to drive back to Boston. I was mad at her though; I threw it on the street and stepped on it and wrote an angry song about it, "Plastic Bird."
